We love these 'old' collie pictures. So sweet the way she's hiding behind her collie. When we lived in Lake Arrowhead, CA we had a wonderful collie girl who had experienced a bumpy start in life, having been returned to the pet store that sold her as a puppy. Back then, we knew nothing of puppy mills and horrors of irresponsible breeding. She had been returned because she was 'excitable'. She was just doing what collie puppies do! We had no other information on our girl who was about 4 months at the time we first brought her home.
This picture reminded me of how much Dancer loved the snow. She would roll in it making collie snow angels. She would run with her long snout to the snow and scoop up as much as she could hold in her mouth, looking like a little furry snow plow. But, most of all she loved to play with her boys in the snow.
Dancer lived to be almost 11, but breast cancer got the best of her in the end. I still miss her and love her.
Do you have a picture?
ReplyDeleteAnd welcome!!!
I have no digital pics of her as she passed in 1996. I have photos of her that I need to scan so that they'll be preserved. Thank you for reading.
DeleteI'm trying to add you to follow, and to my circle, but I can't find Collie222. What am I doing wrong?

DeleteDid it work? I just wanted to tell you how happy we are that you started a blog! Collies are an awesome breed, and need us to help promote them! All too often, when we are out on a hike or taking a walk, people come up to us and tell us "you never see collies anymore!" Has this happened to you as well?
